Suicidal gunman kills 8 in Omaha shopping mall designated as a “gun free zone”.

A suicidal man walked into a crowded Omaha mall and began shooting with a rifle. He killed 8 people and wounded numerous others.

This mall had designated itself as a “gun free zone”. This means that law abiding citizens with concealed carry permits are not allowed to bring their firearms into the mall to protect themselves. Obviously the “no gun” rule didn’t matter to the gunman.

How many lives could have been spared if one citizen had a lawfully carried firearm?
We’ll never know.
