Proactive Shooters, LLC was formed in 2007 in Richmond, Virginia by our company President, Mr. James Reynolds. His goal, and ours, is to help you learn safe handling techniques for your firearms as well as learning how to take a proactive approach to increasing your personal safety. Our courses are designed so that everyone can benefit from the training, no matter what your experience level is. We offer classes in concealed carry which will be instrumental to you if you decide to obtain a carry permit. For those gun owners who want to take their training to the next level, we also offer private shooting lessons that are tailored to the individual.

As an NRA membership recruiter, we can also offer you discounted rates on becoming a member of the National Rifle Association and enjoying the benefits of that membership. We also now offer the famed “Utah permit course”. This course allows Virginians to apply for a Utah non-resident concealed carry permit and that permit will allow them to carry a concealed handgun legally in 30+ states across the country. Proactive Shooters is the only company in the Metro Richmond area to offer this course, and we are very pleased to be able to offer it to our customers.

Mr. Reynolds is not only the President of Proactive Shooters. He also serves as our Chief Firearms Instructor and takes a direct “hands on” approach to all of our training courses. Mr. Reynolds has 12 years of decorated experience as a sworn law enforcement officer in both New Jersey and Virginia, as well as having served in various capacities in the field of corporate security.

He holds (or has held) numerous professional certifications and memberships including:

• - National Rifle Association (NRA) certified Firearms Instructor  - Pistol, Home Firearms Safety
• - Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services -  General Instructor
• - Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services - Firearms Instructor (Law Enforcement Division)
• - Utah Bureau of Criminal Identification - Concealed Firearms Instructor 
• - Member, National Concealed Firearms Instructor Association
• - Member, Virginia Citizens Defense League
• - Graduate of the first ”Advanced Courthouse Security” training program conducted at the prestigious Blackwater USA training facility.
• - NRA certified membership recruiter

Our hours of operation are:

Monday - Friday  8:30am - 7:00pm

Saturday -  9:00am - 6:00pm

Sunday -  10:00am - 6:00pm

Please note - our offices will be closed Thursday, August 28-Sunday, August 31, 2008 for annual instructor training. As always, you may email questions to: training@proactiveshooters.com and one of our training specialists will answer your question as quickly as possible. You may also, of course continue to register for classes on our website.
